Shital Shah’s Gujarati film ‘HuTuTuTu’ goes international
Gujarati films definitely seem to have come of age with the phenomenal response some of them are getting all over. After the success of films like Gujjubhai The Great and Chhello Divas, it is the hilarious Gujarati comedy, HuTuTuTu-Aavi Ramat Ni Rutu that is making waves in Gujarat. Actress turned director, Shital Shah is thrilled with the overwhelming response for the film which recently celebrated a 50-day successful run in Gujarat. She and her team are now planning to take the film overseas encouraged by the terrific response. “We did not plan to explore the business of the film beyond Gujarat earlier but now we have got offers from people who are very keen on releasing the film in Australia. We have subtitled the film in English and are also looking at a tentative release in USA, UK and UAE,” Shital says. The actress who has worked in more than 13 Hindi and South films, is aspiring to explore more Gujarati films, “I have never been offered a Gujarati film till date because no good films were being made so I decided to make one. Now that the film is a success, I am planning to make a good film every year. Moreover the Government subsidy will help us make quality films,” she says.
