It appears that the clash of the Hrithik Roshan starrer, Mohenjo Daro and the Akshay Kumar starrer, Rustom, is inevitable in the Independence Day week this year, as there is no possibility of either of the film’s producers rescheduling the release dates of their films. Last week there was news that Rustom was likely to be pre-poned by a week to avert the clash but Rustom producer, Nittin Keni recently clarified that the release date of the film had not been changed and he had been talking to Mohenjo Daro director Ashutosh Gowariker to work out an alternative. While speaking to a section of the media, Keni also observed that the promotions of Mohenjo Daro had not begun yet. However Ashutosh Gowariker productions, has now issued an official clarification stating that it has no plans to reschedule the release date of the film. The clarification also states that the promotional campaign for Mohenjo Daro is due to begin soon. It reads, “We would like to clarify that Ashutosh Gowariker has not been spoken to by any production house vis-a- vis the release date of Mohenjo Daro and there is no change in the release date of the film. As officially announced more than a year ago on 15th January 2015, the film will release on 12th August 2016. There is a specific promotional plan in place for our film and our campaign will begin as scheduled by our team for the same.” Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, presented by UTV Motion Pictures and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita Gowariker, Mohenjo Daro stars Hrithik Roshan and introduces Pooja Hegde along with Kabir Bedi and Arunoday Singh.
